Consider hibernation

Consider hibernation:
a sabbatical of sorts,
refraining for a season from
the fevered fight for heat,
the crucible of creation;

letting the blood run cold,
breath slow, the rhythm
of life decrescendo to find,
swaddled in the cavernous, cool earth,
the steady state of eternity.
